Henry's Bio
Co-Founder and Director, The SMS Works.
Henry has been involved in the business SMS industry more or less since it started in 1998, when he co-founded Text Marketer, a business SMS provider. The business was sold to competitor Esendex in 2013.
The SMS Works, set up in 2017, is one of the very few SMS API companies that refunds non-delivered texts. It’s a fairer and more open way of working.
He writes regularly on the subject of mobile marketing and his work has appeared in a range of publications including The Register, Search Engine Land, Information Age, Silicon Republic and many more.
Since 2018 he has been researching the fines that the Information Commissioner’s Office issues for data breaches and spam offences. His reports, using data obtained by Freedom of Information requests, have been featured in many IT and legal outlets, including Infosecurity Magazine, Legal360, CPO magazine, Risk UK and others.
Along with almost everyone, his midlife crisis is cycling which he indulges in the glorious lanes of Somerset and in his spare bedroom on a turbo.
He also finds it really strange writing about himself in the third person.
