In this case, you would have been charged for attempting to send a text to that country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now you can choose to switch individual countries off or on, so you have full control over which countries your account can send messages to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example if you know that you\u2019re never going to send messages to France and Germany you can switch those countries off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-4134\" src=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Internatiional-SMS-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"international SMS controls\" width=\"616\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Internatiional-SMS-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesmsworks.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Internatiional-SMS-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thesmsworks.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Internatiional-SMS.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To access international control, login to your account and go to SMS Credits &#8211; International SMS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.co.uk\/blog\/international-sms\/\">some countries are highly regulated and require registering<\/a><\/strong> before you can send texts there. (E.g USA, Canada, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.co.uk\/blog\/rules-for-sending-business-sms-messages-to-australia\/\">Australia<\/a><\/strong>, New Zealand and much of the middle east.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enabling SMS sending to restricted countries in your account, does not mean that you can send messages there without registration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you need to send to a restricted country, drop us a line at <\/span><strong><a combat SMS pump fraud<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.co.uk\/blog\/sms-pumping\/\">SMS pumping<\/a><\/strong> is a type of SMS fraud where web forms that generate <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesmsworks.co.uk\/blog\/sms-otp\/\">SMS one time passwords<\/a><\/strong> are hijacked by fraudsters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They generate vast numbers of fraudulent SMS OTPs from which they generate a revenue share. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">f web forms are not adequately protected, then all SMS credits can be rapidly depleted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the new international controls, customers will be able ensure that SMS OTPs are only generated for authorised
